I hope this answer is soon enough, so that we have a new alfisti.
My mum drives a golf TDI IV cabrio 66kw(quite heavy car) and my dad an 156 SW 1.9 jtd 85 kw.
Both engines are totally different. The TDI is not underpowered but it doesn't give you a fast impression neither.
The JTD gives you more a speedy impression because the accelerator responds sooner and the engine loves much more higher rpm's than the TDI.Also the sound is much nicer.
I've never driven the 77kw version but I think the difference isn't that big. The difference in max.torque is only 20Nm.
The JTD's are quite reliable and haven't a lot of problems. A possible problem can be a broken MAF what is a quite expansive cost.
