156 camber

Hi
This is the first post I've put up so apologies if this has already been covered. I've only had my 156 (2.5 V6 1998) for 4 months but in that time have been through 3 font tyres. It has the full Alfa sport kit with 17" wheels and is very low. Because of this my garage tells me that the camber is out of alignment and this is causing the inside of the front tyres to wear excessively. Unfortunately they say that as it's lowered the camber cannot be adjusted and suggested a camber bolt Has anyone else had such a problem and found a fix or am I going to have to live with fast tyre wear and a rotational rubbing noise caused I think by the angle of the wheels. Any help would be very welcome.
Cheers Rob

Re: 156 camber

if nothing is wrong with your car, then the camber, which is indeed not adjustable, should not cause such problems. In cars which are lowered a lot,
somewhat faster tyrewear is a price to pay, but not what you describe, and not with rotational noises other than the usual noise tyres make. Maybe you take your car to a bodyshop specialized in alignments.
I think your toe-in should be adjusted. Moreover, many alfisti (including myself) are reporting good results if the tyre pressure is increased to 36 psi and higher
(2.5 bar). I had good results with 37 psi in front and 35 psi at the rear.

Ciao,
Joachim
