I have been trying to trace the history of my Giulia Super before it was imported to England in 1989. Alfa Romeo have told me the date it was manufactured and that it was first bought by a Mr Pasquale Maglione of Maiano Italy.
For over a year now I have been trying to trace the history in Italy but I cannot find the owner or his family, and even the exact location of Maiano seems difficult. I think it may be in the province of Udine.
Can anyone help please?
Ciao...Mark

Maiano?

Couldn't it be a slip of the pen or keyboard?

Milan in Italian is Milano
Milan in German is Mailand
Combined Maiano?

No, nice suggestion but it is definitely "Maiano", and recorded as such in Alfa Romeo archives.

An Italian guy suggested it may be in the province of Udine in north Italy.

Anyone help please?

Hi Mark!

I took a look on the map of northern italy this evening and found 3 (!) different Maiano.
In which province was the car first registered? It should be named in the original italian documents of your car.

Ciao, alfistagtv6.

Mark, just a quicky after diner; maybe this can help.

There are 4 "frazione's" called Maiano. A frazione is a smaller city.
There is 1 "comune" (city) called Maiano.
The 4 frazione's are:
1 belongs to the city of Fiesole, in the province Firenze (FI) in the region Toscana
1 belongs to the city of Spoleto, in the province Perugia (PG) in the region Umbria
1 belongs to the city of Sant'agata Feltria, in the province Pesaro Umbino (PU) in the region Marche
1 belongs to the city of Fusignano, in the province Ravenna (RA) in the region Emila Romagna
The city of Maiano, in the province Udine (UD) in the region Friuli Venezia Guilia

Based on this the city of Maiano seems to be the "largest" one, what may be the reason why your Italian connection thougth of this one.

Any way I found the following names/adresses/phonenumbers:
In the region Friuli Venezia Guilia
Maglione Pasquale
34074 Monfalcone (GO) - Via Xxv Aprile, 21
tel 0481.45474

In the region Emilia Romagna
Maglione Pasquale
42048 Rubiera (RE) - Via Manzoni, 5/3
tel 0522.629212

In the region Toscana
Maglione Pasquale
56028 Catena (PI) - Via Guerrazzi Francesco, 29
tel 0571.400704

Maglione Pasquale
51015 Pozzarello (PT) - Via Violi
tel 0572.62077

Maglione Pasqualina (a "she" Pasquale)
57124 Livorno (LI) - Via Costanza, 70
tel 0586.863547

I sure am happy his first name isn't (wasn't?) Antonio!

Happy hunting!

Thanks so much for the reply - fantastic! I will write to them all this evening. As Alfa Romeo could only tell me it was "Maiano" with no further info apart fromt he original owners name, date of manufacture, and date of purchase, I suspect it should be the largest of these.

Unfortunately i don't have any of the original documentation.

Thanks again......Mark
