Vollständige Version anzeigen : Increasing the Displacement on the Twin Spark 16V 1.6
The diameter of the pistons in the models of 1.6,1.8 and 2.0 litres of the Twin Spark 16V engines remains in all the models substantially the same!
You can take the Pistons, the Piston Rod,the Crankshaft and the Camshaft of a larger engine and use it in your engine.
Offcourse you'll need the reprogramming of the electronic management.
Waiting for comments!

Hi Felleas.
But how do you know what is the best pistons diameter to your engine?
If you install different Pistons, the Piston Rod,the Crankshaft and the Camshaft of a larger engine you can “break” yours! I think!!!
I don’t have enough knowledge to answer your question, but I think is a lot more complex than changing parts.
I think the best thing is to install one performance kit specific to your engine (1.6).
In my opinion, the more logical tuning steps are:
Security:
- Adjustable dampers (Koni, Bilstein…)
- Progressive springs (Novitec, Eibach, H&R…)
- Strut bracer (Novitec, Sparco…)
- Good braking system
- Etc…
Performance:
- Air filter / CAI / Dynamic Intake (BMC, K&N…)
- Full Exhaust system, without cat…only direct pipes (Supersprint, CSC…)
- FSE
- ECU Remap
- Etc…
After all this mods you will have a great car to drive everyday and to do some good trackdays.
There are other mods, but I think they are too way expensive! (Turbo, Kompressor, exchanging engine, etc…)

All infos that i posted are taken from an article posted in a greek tuning magazine called Power techniques and is written by skillfull mechanics which tested the mods!
I have to mention though that the engine block is the same for the 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 litres twin spark engines!Thats why everything fits in.

But that’s a really good news for “real” future tuning! :):-]
Yes and imagine installing a turbo too!!!
you can reach 230-250 hp!!!
