Hi there folks,
First allow me to introduce myself.
My name is Matt, I live in London, work as a freelance photographer, and have 2 alfas at the moment; the 1995 164 3.0V6 24v super Lusso (210-ish bhp) and a 1983 Alfasud 1.5ti green cloverleaf which I am part way through stripping for restoration and modification.
On the 164 front, I have questions for all those out there who may know about the 164's tuning potential.
I know of Autodelta here in London, but want to know about other tuners. Specifically I want to know about better brakes (Pads and discs), Bigger wheels (17x7.5inch or 18x 8 ) like OZ super tourismo or older zender milano, maybe new zender sienna or dynamic, Lower springs (particularly at the back as my 164 seems to be angled forward), and better shock absorbers, are there any uprated bushes or anti roll bars out there? I already have a freeflow stainless steel exhaust (From Kat backwards) and a K&N freeflow airfilter, I am considering the 164 QV inlet manifolds as these are the major difference between the 210bhp & 230bhp engines (Bigger bore), and a chip. Ultimately a 3.5 litre conversion would be fun!
Anyone know anything about any of the modifications I would like to add?? Please let me know. Keep up the faith all you Alfisti!! Remember our cars are from where Ferrari started, the imposters!!

Ciao Matt

ciao matt,

>I know of Autodelta here in London, but want to know about other tuners.
http://www.forzatuning.com he comes from London.

>Bigger wheels (17x7.5inch or 18x 8 ) like OZ super tourismo or older zender milano, maybe new zender sienna or dynamic
you don´t need a special alfa tuner to buy rims ;D all you need are the specifications of the rims: 5/98 - 58mm
You can buy the Zender wheels at your local Alfa Romeo dealer. The Milano is out of production (and out of stock) :(

>Ultimately a 3.5 litre conversion would be fun!
of course :) but you can get this only at autodelta in GB. The other way is a turbo or compressor for your 164. ask at forzatuning.

AndrŽ,
thank you for your reply.
Do you have web addresses for the N5 wheel rims suppliers? Or any other wheel suppliers that do Alfa sizes?
On the wheel rim specification 5/98, I understand being the stud pattern and the PCD, but 58mm? Is this the Offset?
OZ only do the super tourismo in an 8x18 in 5/100mm PCD and needs spacers to fit the 164 as the Offset is not right either. This worries me on such a high performance car having to use "wobble" bolts and spacers, when the car can do 150mph/240kph! Imagine a failure!!
Do you have any advice on the springs shocks or brakes front as well as this would be my start point before going for POWER!! :-))
I am not worried by the thought of travelling to obtain wheels/engines/performance stuff, so what about mainland european specialists?
Your advice would be most welcome
Many thanks and best regards,
Matt,

>Do you have web addresses for the N5 wheel rims suppliers?
www.novitec.net or http://tuning.alfisti.net ;)

>Or any other wheel suppliers that do Alfa sizes?
check out the link-list under www.alfisti.net > links > suppliers

> but 58mm? Is this the Offset?
no, sorry!! the 58mm are the center-hole (I hope you know what I mean)

>OZ only do the super tourismo in an 8x18 in 5/100mm PCD and needs spacers to fit the 164 as the Offset is not right either.
TAKE CARE!!! the wobble bolts are not the problem BUT you can´t use the bolts with the spacers!!! the bolts are available in only one lenght!!!

>Do you have any advice on the springs shocks or brakes ...
... no sorry, only movit breaks.

There are only a handfull tuner for Alfa Romeo. Autodelta has (in my opinion) a good name...
in germany: novitec, engstler ps-schulze (work together with autodelta), hörmann and brohl (engines)...
netherlands: madeno-racing.com (?) and squadra-chip(tuning).com (?)
