Alfa Selespeed gearbox ?

Quick question for someone with a 147 or 156 with Selespeed gearbox!

Can the selespeed gearbox work as a fully automatic gearbox ??

I want an Alfa 156 but wife can not use a manual gearbox....
so we have to find a compromise..... and the 2.5 V6 Q-system
is too expensive...

Hi,

I do not own a selespeed but I know that the selespeed has a city mode which is comparable to an automatic gearbox. the gears are shifted automatically so this should suite your wife i hope.

the answer is yes! If your wife wishes she can use it as an fully automatic gearbox and keep both hands on the steeringwheel at all times :-]

My wife ONLY drives in the "city-mode" and told me in the future she will never drive any other gearbox than Selespeed...except Cambiocorsa!

Personally I drive it "manually", but isn't that the great thing about this semi-automatic system? You get two for the price of one...
