Alfa Romeo Italia

Dear Alfisti,

As real lovers for our car-brand Alfa Romeo we really want to know everything about our car and mostly about the engine as we want to keep it all in original shape. As the AR 164 24valve has NOT got the same enginepower(ph) compared to the Alfa Romeo 164 3.0 V6 QV i am intrested what really is the difference.

Why!?! I needed a new original QV engine.. found a AR garage who could supply and repair this .. but he has mounted a basic engine the: AK663010000676 instead of the AK66302....

There is some knowledge required about the specific model Alfa Romeo 164 3.0 V6 24v and the tuned up model 164 3.0 V6 Quadriofoglio Verde 24v.
This concerns specific differend information around the engine and motormanagement between the two above models mentioned.

Is it possible to give me the correct specifications and full information needed concerning the real differences.

The several sofware programmes does NOT give enough clear information about the real difference and the official dealers gives NO uniform technical specification on feedback about this topic.

Thank you

Best regards,
Duncan Gouvernante

You can overcome most of the power loss on the standard 24valve engine by fitting the larger intake runners from the Cloverleaf model. This is a fairly common modification, it is low cost and there is a company in Holland/Belgium that sells a complete kit.

If I can remember/refind their name I will post it.

For Intake runner modification See:

It costs about 250 Euro.

Good Luck
