Well i just received my new aluminum strut bar for my 147 and installed it in my local garage.
It is very flexible and as my mechanic told me the only advantage is the aesthetic look of having a strut bar with the novitec logo written on:-*

Ciao Felleas,

the strut bar works very well. I don´t know what your mecanics means but maybe he don´t install it correctly!?

No way it is just for looks. If it is installed correctly, which means a tight fit, but without pull or pressure onto the car frame, then there is an appreciable difference in the car's cornering and steering.

Ciao,
Joachim

Thanks Andri for your concern,I really don't doubt my mechanic since he works for the Billstein rally team here in greece. He tightened the bar to the appropriate level but the problem is that the bar is very flexible.Alfa Romeo does not have produced yet a strut bar for the 147 but the one for the 156 its Stainless steel which far more rigid than the novitec.Pitty there not one for the 147

Well thanks for the concern.
From what i've seen during the time of installation after fitting the bar and screwing the suspension bolts which fixed the bar on suspension cups of the car,the mechanic "tightened" by unscrewing the center of the bar untill it was sitff enough without "bending" upwards.
Was that enough or should i try further tightening?

No, that seems to be ok. What I think you should do now is
DRIVE and push the car into bends, then you should realize the difference.
