Hello,

I own a 156 2.4jtd with water-problems. The problem is the airco, the condenswater leaks out of the fan. Luckely i found your site! I already went to the alfa-dealer in my neighberhood, but it was no known problem for him. I already checked the outcome of the drain at the motorside, i can slip in two fingers for about 4 cm. Then the hose-end(the end is in rubber and looks like a duc-nose) goes over in hard material and my fingers get too short ;). When the motor runs and the airco is on, there is also water leaking out of the drain at the outside of the car...but clearly not all the water. I have taken out the fan at the passengerside, there is a little hole in where it the water leaks out. The hole is probably there to avoid under-pressure i think, when the rotor turns. I already checked at the window-side under the black cover that covers the air intake filter, the filter is dry and there was no water or leafs or any durt that blocks the drainage holes. And the water that runs out is cold so that also points to condenswater.

Is this problem caused by a bad placement of the drain? Where is this placement of the drain wrong and how can i acces it? Can something block the drain perhaps on the inside? There is only pure water normaly that runs thrue it...

Can someone please help me look for the "service news" of 99 or 2000. Someone told me that my problem is there mentionned in.

Relax, there are worse than this.....My fathers 166 leaked the airco inside!!!
The whole dashboard was taken off trying to find the leak but didn't help, finally after lots of action taken since the car was 3 days old,was replaced!
My dad thanked his layer, and not the mechanic nor Alfa!!!
